Bitterfeather's mind whirled as she sat by herself. The moss around her paws was cool and kept sending chills up and down her spine. But she didn't care. She wanted an apprentice. She had been a warrior for how ever long and she still hadn't gotten an apprentice. She wanted one badly. She wanted Her apprentice to huntlike her and fight like her. To be brave like her. But yet, the leader seemed reluctant to give her an apprentice. To her it didn't make sence.

Limestone padded over to the rocks of moss, finished and ready to cool down after a long day of training Skypaw. Her light gray pelt was ruffled by a gust as she spotted Bitterfeather. The she-cat jumped from her spot and made her way over to the sullen she-cat.

"What's the matter?" She asked softly. Her green eyes showed with worry, the she-cat was one of her good friends - Limestone hated seeing any of her Clanmates so down.

Bitterfeather jumped slightly as Limestone jerked her out of her disturbed and frustrating thoughts. She turned to look at Limestone and she smiled.

"I'm just thinking about the apprentice I don't have." She hissed slightly before realizing she sounded rude and crude. Twitched her ear in apology and then sighed. "I just don't get why Dragonstar won't give me an apprentice."

[CATxOFxICE]

The gray she-cat sat down and licked her paw. "I don't think that's the reason. I think he wants to give the older Warriors apprentices first, one day we'll need a new deputy and he wants some of the older cats to be prepared.... and besides, there will be plent time for you to get a new apprentice. Until then Moonsong might need help with training her apprentice."

Limestone let her claws rest on the cool rocks, relaxing them from the earlier greenleaf heat. Her short tail curled around her paw as she glanced at Bitterfeather.

[Echo]

A white she-cat strolled along, her ears listening to the wind. She saw two of her clanmates and padded over. This was Mysticalpoison, the Juniperclan deputy.
"Hello," she mewed. "Good day, Limestone." Her eyes glanced over to the other she-cat. "What's wrong, Bitterfeather?"

Bitterfeather smiled fakely at Mysticalpoison. She knew that her anger and frustration was showing through and she wasn't hiding it very well. But if her Clanmates were concerned who was she to deprive and burden them with her unhappiness.
"I'm having difficulties feeling loyal to Dragonstar."

[Echo]

"Oh?" Mythicalpoison's blank eyes showed no emotion, but her voice hinted an understanding tone. She sighed. "I think that everyone has felt like that at times." She sat, tail curled around her paws, ready to listen or, if Bitterfeather wished, to leave. Mythicalpoison was a compassionate deputy.

Bitterfeather smiled slightly at Mysticalpoison's understanding but then again felt awkward talking to her because she was Dragonstar's deputy. Well, she did care, and that was what counted. And the last thing sh needed was to be enemies with the Clan deputy. "I really want an apprentice thats all, but Dragonstar hasn't given me one." She said in a woo-is-me voice looking for some sympathy.

[Echo]

Mythicalpoison nodded. "I understand. But I have no control over Dragonstar's choices." She thought for a moment, then added, "But... I could talk to him..."

[CATxOFxICE]

"I think there is going to be a new litter of kits soon, maybe one of them could be your apprentice? Clan life will go on - don't worry," Limestone meowed gently. Her paws twitched slightly, she had been wanting her second apprentice, and got Skypaw.

Green eyes wandered up to the sky, Sun-down seemed to be coming fast. "We should probably be getting back to camp, alright?"

Bitterfeather sighed as she took in the words of the she-cats. They were right. And she would get an apprenitce sooner or later. But she was getting older and she was somewhat more experienced than most of the cats in the Clan and she had been a warrior for a while.
" Yeah we should get going." The words came out weak and pitiful, partly because she was tired and the other half because she was feeling sorry for herself.

Limestone let her tail rest on the she-cat's shoulder. She nudged her softly back to camp, noticing how much she needed rest. The gray she-cat was tired herself, and knew somewhat how Bitterfeather was feeling.

Her paws led her to the camp, she stopped at the enetrance and looked back to see if the other she-cats had also been padding behind.

Bitterfeather followed slowly and was about 6 fox-strides away from Limestone. She didn't want to be in the camp around anyone. But then again f she was in camp she would have a little better luck getting control over herself. And she was tired. So it was good that they were home.
