Wandering Around (open)

[Dragonstar]

Blizzardpaw endlessly wandered around the meadow. He ,somehow, started humming a song he's never heard. His face showed noe emotion. He just kept walking and walking and walking and waking. He remembered when his mother took him here to scold him. Then she went crazy. He was sad, but didn't cry. The sky above him seemed to take pity on him. At first it looked like it was a bad storm, but it moved on without a single drop.

OOC: At 7 moons, Blizzardpaw does have a mentor. Just out of role play, I and Winterstar haven't assigned a mentor to Blizzardpaw. Does that make sense?

Feathermist scented the air, picking up no signs of any herb they might need, it didn't really matter anyway, the stock was high. She even had some of the sweet catmint stuffed away, despite the rarity of it - and it wouldn't be needed until leafbare.

The wind changed, and a scent of an apprentice drifted into her nostrils. Bounding quickly, the she-cat made her way over to Blizzardpaw trying not to surprise him.

She rested her tail on his shoulder. "Hello, Blizzardpaw. Are you out alone?"

He stopped humming." Huh? " he meowed, surprised, " Oh.....uh...... Yeah.......? " He was a little uncertain with his words. But he couldn't help it, he fell on his head as a kit. He sat down and licked his paw.

[CATxOFxICE]

Feathermist sat down beside him. "Do you want to go hunting with me? I mean, I know Medicine Cats usually don't hunt - but I have nothing else to do."

She purred in amusement, and pointed her tail at a bush of yellow flowers. "See that Tansy, we have so much of it I'm running out of room for other herbs. It's always so abundent this time of year, but it's only needed during Leafbar."

She looked at him gently, and smiled. It always got her down to see the young cats so serious. You could tell when they were, a lot of the time more arrogant warriors could fake it.

But not Blizzardpaw, he was like many young cats, honest.

" I guess we could go hunting, " He meowed casually. He eyed the yellow flowers suspiciously, as if expecting a fox to leap out of the bush. " Tansy....... " He got up and sniffed the bush. He was now in his 'serious' mode. He sneezed at the flowers. And again, and again. He growled at the flowers and stared at them. Maybe, if I stare at them long enough, they'll go away, he thought.

[CATxOFxICE]

"Blizzardpaw..... um.... Blizzardpaw? You know, some cats do get running noses...... ah....."

Feathermist kneaded the ground with her claws, awkwardly. She didn't know what to do, she didn't want to offend him in any way, but....

"Could you maybe show me some hunting tricks you know? I only went through basic prey hunting. But I did have a long lesson on herb hunting." Feathertail mentally clawed herself.

Hunting herbs? That's stupid..... I can't believe I just said that. The silver-blue she cat crouched down, and opened her mouth intent on catching the scents of anything alive prey.

Blizzardpaw stopped staring at the flowers and turned his attention back to Feathermist. " I guess... " Blizzardpaw meowed, " Do you think I hurt Tansy's feelings by staring at it? " He stepped back and looked Feathermist, clearly not comprehending that plant's do not have feelings.

" Do you think it hurts the herbs when you pull them out of the ground? " he asked.

Feathermist began to claw at the ground again. StarClan.... oh, what should I say? She glanced at the clouds, hoping that any time soon there would be rain.

"I think the Tansy likes being looked at, they think they're pretty... I think," She muttered the last part almost silently. "I don't know, I guess I wouldn't know since I'm not a herb."

Feathermist quickly licked her fluffy pelt, snagged by a bramble. "We'd better get hunting before this rain comes down and scares away all the prey."

" Oh, you're right, " Blizzardpaw meowed. He spotted a squirrel nibbling a nut under a tree. He crept up onto it and pouced. It was smuthered beneath his weight and it died. " I got one! "

[CATxOFxICE]

"Wow! That was a great catch! If I were a warrior...." The gray she-cat trailed off. If I were a Warrior I would want Owlkit here with me....

She lowered herself onto her belly, eyes sharpened on a mouse. It was unaware of her, going about it's buisnes, until she pounced.

The mouse jumped as soon as she left the ground, and darted into a hole near the roots of a pine tree as her claw snagged into the earth, almost slicing the end of it tail. "Fox dung! I can't believe I'm this bad."

Feathermist sat up, licked her chest and sighed. It's not surprising, until my mentor died the Medicine Den was full of cats, but now... Has even my brother abandoned me?

A drop of rain splattered onto her nose. "We'd better get back, unless we want to be moss for the elders!" She sighed again, looking at the sky she saw a cat's eye.

" I guess so, " Blizzardpaw mewed with the squirrel inbetween his teeth. " Let's go. " He padded along to his camp. He wondered how he could be a warrior.

Feathermist was silent the whole time, and Blizzardpaw didn't seem much different. She glanced at him every once and awhile. She though back to the day he had fallen.

If I had been able to save him, if our old Medicine Cat wasn't sick, he might be a normal apprentice, I hate to see him suffering, in his own way he seems to understand he's on his own among our Clan.

Feathermist's eyes traveled to the sky, again she saw Blizzardpaw's eye swirl in the storm, but she didn't know how to interpret it. Maybe in a dream she could get a sign.....

They reached the camp all too soon, most of the cats were in their dens, trying to keep warm and dry.

"Hey Blizzardpaw, once you become a Warrior and have the time, make sure to visit me, okay?" She meowed warmly to the young apprentice, and padded back into her own den.

It's times like these I wonder what would happen if I wasn't a Medicine cat. Would I have kits? Would I be Blizzadpaw's mentor? I guess pointless questions will never get me answers. Feathermist sighed, curled up in her moss and drifted off to sleep.

[Dragonstar]

" Buh-Bye, " Blizzardpaw meowed, He skipped to the fresh kill pile and dropped his rabbit. He went over to his den and stretched, layed down, and fell asleep.

~Dream~

" Come on, don't be a fraidy cat, " sneered a dark brown kit.

" B-but what if I get hurt? " asked a white kit, known as Blizzardpaw now.

" You'll be fine, " meowed a solid black she-cat.

" O-okay, " Blizzardkit agreed. Blizzardkit had been dared to climb large tree in their camp. Blizzardkit hesitated, but then he climbed the tree. He got higher and higher. He reached one of the top most branches and climbed up.

" I did it! " He cheered, but as he did so, he lost his balance and fell. The only feeling he felt was pain, raw pain. He heard shrieking and calls of help. And then everything was black.

Blizzardpaw in the real world fidgeted in his sleep.
