Scorchleaf smiled at Wanderingspirit beside her. "OK, well, let's get huntung!" she smiled. He really was kinda cute...No, no no. Forget it. Someone like him would never like someone like me. Who am I kidding? she shook her head absent-mindedly.

The tom flicked his ears and purred back, "That sounds like a great idea." He could feel the worries for his sister slip away. He always felt lighter, happier around the pretty she-cat.
The white warrior's thoughts drifted. Morningfrost already had a mate.... yet, even he wasn't sure if any she-cat liked him. The tom began to pad softly and swiftly, his mind still far from the scents of prey.

Scorchleaf watched him go, and she hated the feeling of loss as she did. "Wait...I changed my mind. How about we look together, and then the biggest we can share?" she suggested. She kicked herself for feeling the desperation slip through her words. "You don't have to, it was just a suggestion. The swamp is rather dark sometimes, you know. So it would be more fun, that way I don't end up thinking you are the prey." she backpetaled and then joked with half a heart. She bit her tongue,"Starclan, Scorchleaf. Shut up!" she screamed at herself.

"Well.... I suppose that sounds alright." The tom meowed. It made him feel a little better - but him the prey? Not likely with his snowy white pelt!
The tom walked closer to Scorchleaf, his thick fur brushing against her pelt. He let scents of prey flow into his mouth and immidiately slunk into a stalking position.

Scorchleaf sighied in releif. She loved the feeling of his soft pelt, and it made her feel guilty in knowing hers wasn't as soft. It was, but not the fluffy feel of his pelt. She crouched with him, at the same pace stalking forward. Then she looked over at him, and smiled.

Wanderingspirit pounced with a swift kill, he turned and noticed Scorchleaf's gaze. His ears flattened in embarrassment, he set down the kill and smiled back awkwardly.
"I guess I have the biggest so far!"

"Ha ha, but not for very long!" she whispered to him, not to scare off the prey. At that moment she looked to her right, and saw a thrush. She crept up on it, and pounce, giving it a bite to the neck until she felt the bones break underneath her jaws. "We'll just have to find out and see, now won't we?" she joked. Then she smiled once again, happy with her kill...but guiltily it was mostly him. SCORCHLEAF! the voice in her head screamed. But of course she didn't hear. She was too intent on making sure he was more comfortable this time.

Wanderingspirit dropped his kill onto the ground, it was meager in comparison to Scorchleaf's juicy-looking thrush. He swiped his toung over his jaws and his nose raised to the air as he picked up another scent - vole.
His dark eyes flickered over near Scorchleaf's paw, where the small animal was picking at some sort of swamp plant. His ears signaled to Scorchleaf and his head raised up to see if she had noticed.

Scorchleaf saw him flick her ears, and she didn't know if either he wanted her to get it or wait for him to. She didn't know what to do, and as she saw the little creature move more away, she shot out the paw it was by to hold it down and clamped on it's neck. Then she looked at him apoligeticly, and said, "Sorry if you wanted to get that. I just didn't want it to get away." She frowned. Now she really felt bad.
She looked down at her dark brown paws. She sneaked a peek at him, but didn't know what his expression meant. So she looked down again, now really appalled at herself. "Sorry. Really." she said again, meaning it for more than one reason.

"I couldn't have got it if I tried - especially with so much grace," Wanderingspirit purred. He sunk down on his paws and laid on his stomach. "Do you want to just eat now? I think we're done for today, the next patrol will be sent out soon."

Scorchleaf angled her head once more. "Shouldn't we feed the clan first? Then we can give the nursery the vole, and then the other can be for anyone else." she said. Then she smiled, and said, "Then we can share the thrush." she added happily.

Wanderingspirit nodded in agreement, "I suppose you're right." He picked up his catch and began to trot back towards the camp. His ears flicked back to see if Scorchleaf was following him.
Morningfrost has a mate.... so I wonder, what about me? With Scorchleaf........

She was, very eagerly. She trotted to be able to stand next to him, and smiled. She was so happy to actually have someone she sort of...liked. She was happy to hear it herself in her head. No secrets there.
