Icefeather waited, his claws flexing in anticipation. He had been told by the deputy this morning that he would be leading the next hunting patrol. Unfortunately, the details of who was going to be with him was left out.
The white tom's tail flew back in forth in annoyance. He had been standing at the enterance to camp for enough time that he could have already caught atleast 3 pieces of prey. His amber eyes glanced into the camp again. If no cat showed up he would just leave by himself.

Luckdraw half padded, half stumbled over to the camp entrance. He had completely forgotten that he was suppose to go on a hunting patrol today. "Sorry I'm late, Icefeather!" He said, panting a bit from rushing over, "Slipped my mind...." Luckdraw hoped the other tom would forgive him. Everyone makes mistakes, right? Then again, Luckdraw has made lots of mistakes.....

The white tom twitched in annoyance. Emberflicker had sent the most forgetful cat in HollyClan on a patrol with Icefeather. He felt almost insulted, grumbling the tom padded out in the direction of bush meadow. Maybe some fresh-kill would take his mind of it.
The scents of the forest flowed into his nose, sending away some of his cold thoughts. Icefeather let his paws sink low, his body falling into a perfect hunting crouch. He stalked around, his eyes focused on the prey.

Luckdraw happily followed Icefeather, completely oblivious to the fact that his fellow tom was annoyed. He opened his mouth to say something, but then shut it again when he saw Icefeather get into his hunting crouch. Luckdraw sniffed the air to see if he could scent any prey nearby.
The scent of a rabbit reached his nostrils. He crouched down low and slowly crept towards his target. Once the creature came into view, Luckdraw pounced. He should have crept forwrd a few more steps, for he missed the rabbit by a tail-length. The critter ran away so fast Luckdraw didn't even have time to think.
"I hate rabbits!" Luckdraw said, blaming his prey for his mistake, and probably scaring away nearby prey with the sound of his voice.

Icefeather pounced, but not before Luckdraw. His claws barely dug into the tail of the rabbit as it jumped, startled. He made another quick manuever with his back legs and managed to get the rabbit beneath him and took a bite out of it's neck.
He glared at Luckdraw, from his jaws dangled the russet-colored prey. His paws led him to a grassless area where he swept earth over his prey. "Let's go...." He muttered.

Luckdraw quickly realized his mistake, "Oh I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to....I didn't know that you were going for him...." He continued to ramble in this fashion, completely embarrassed. He followed Icefeather and eventually stopped babbling when he realized the other tom was probably upset with him. Luckdraw wandered a bit away from him, hoping scenting prey farther from Icefeather would allow him to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Icefeather ignored the Tom and ran after a squirrel. It noticed and attempted to flee but the white warrior was too quick to attack and make a swift kill. He picked it up and dragged it back over to where he had buried the rabbit. He took a deep breath and watched Luckdraw hunting.

Luckdraw scented prey. He crouched down and slowly crept towards the smell. He spotted a mouse, and only took a few small steps forward before leaping. Luckdraw landed with his paws right on the mouse and killed it with a swift bite. At first he felt quite proud of himself, but then he noticed Icefeather had caught a squirrel as well. Luckdraw buried his prey, not looking once at Icefeather.

Icefeather padded away, his amber eyes searching for any signs of the rabbits that had escaped earlier. He caught a piece of white fluff hanging off from one of the bushes in sight. The tom crouched down and scented the air for anything that might be hiding. His tail flicked to check the wind; not behind him, which was good.

Luckdraw sat and licked at his pelt for a moment. He had only sniffed around for a second before deciding there wasn't anymore prey nearby. He watched Icefeather stalking prey from a distance. Then, feeling a bit guilty about his uselessness, he stood up and sniffed the air again. Nothing besides what Icefeather was after. Luckdraw wandered farther off, beginning to get frustrated.

Icefeather continued walking foreward, he could scent another being other Luckdraw, immidiately he slipped and he could feel his leg caught in something. He yowled for Luckdraw, squirming and feeling his leg crushed into an unnatural position.

Luckdraw still wasn't finding anything. He sighed, about ready to just go back to camp. Then he heard Icefeather's yowl. He ran as fast as he could towards the sound, tripping over his own feet 3 times. "What happened?!" Luckdraw demanded as soon as he found Icefeather. He was completely panic stricken and had no idea what to do.

Icefeather had manadged to drag himself out from where his leg was caught. It was twisted, farther than any cat should be able to move. He limped slightly, trying to hide it. "This is nothing, you can finish the patrol. I'll just go back to camp." His voice was low, and serious.
The white tom didn't want his Clanmates pity or assistance, he began padding back to camp. He figured by now Luckdraw realized he was annoyed, so he continued going without looking back.

Poppywing cautiously padded where there were many rabbits, and spotted Luckdraw. "Hello, Luckdraw." She greeted him with a smile. "Nice day, isn't it?" As Poppywing was about to add if he wanted to hunt together, she spotted berries on a bush. Padding twords it, she reached out for one red berry, which looked very delicious. Suddenly, she felt very ill as she swallowed the berry. "Help, Luckdraw!" Poppywing said as she managed to speak.

Poppywing struggled as she tried to move herself up, but it was no use. As she tried to stand up again, she suddenly felt everything around her swirl. Then nothing but darkness was she could see.
