Checking the Borders

Mysterypaw carefully put his paws in front of him. He was about 2 tail-lengths away when he finally bunched his muscles and leapt in the air, plummetting on the small mouse, and bit the neck to kill the animal. His eyes lit up in triumph, "I did it!!!! I did it, holy Starclan, I DID IT!!!!!" he jumped in excitement.

[Dragonstar]

" Good job, " Dragonstar praised. He dug a small hole, " Now put the mouse in here, " He decided to teach Mysterypaw how to fight next. He quickly got his squirrel from earlier and came back.

[sea]

Mysterypaw hopped up and down in excitement. He was really happy he could hunt. He never thought he would be able to hunt this fast. It was going fast, and a lot easier than he had planned. He looked up at his mentor to see what they were going to do then. His eyes were beaming in excitement, and his paws were tingling and he was jumping slightly.

[Dragonstar]

Dragonstar smiled at the exhilerated young apprentice. "Come, " He said and flicked his tail, signaling for Mysterypaw to follow. He padded back to camp.

[sea]

Mysterypaw sighed as they padded to the direction to camp. He didn't want to stop. He wanted to train more, and some more after that. Until he dropped of exhaustion. "Are you just going back to camp, because I was wanting to practice some more...so can't I just stay out here a while?" he asked politely.

[Dragonstar]

" Oh, we're no way we're gonna stop training, " Dragonstar meowed and turned around, " We're gonna go battle training in the Mossy Dip. "

[sea]

Mysterypaw could only smile. He was really enjoying the fact he was learning at a quick rate, and he hoped Dragonstar was proud to call him his apprentice. He angled his head, and said, "I am honestly curious-why did you want me as an apprentice?" He really wanted to know. He didn't see that he was any better than the other apprentices. He was an ordinary cat, an ordanary apprentice. Why him?

[Dragonstar]

" Well, " Dragonstar tried to find the right words, " You remind me of me when I was an apprentice. " He never thought Mysterypaw would ask such a question, but he didn't mind. He eyed the new apprentice thoughtfully as they went to the Mossy Dip.

[sea]

Mysterypaw smiled. "Really? You were weird, wild, and awesome at the same time?" he joked. He was surprised. He always thought he was one of the apprentices who wouldn't be the one you wanted to train. He felt like he himself was a handfull. He smiled again, and said,"Wait, so we are going to practice fighting? Cool, I can kick your butt!" he joked once again. He felt like his leader was OK with the fact he liked to joke. He thought of actually bringing down his leader, not that he thought he could. Dragonstar seemed really strong and a good fighter. Then again, he hoped he was to first, he was a leader, and second, he wanted to be a good fighter too-to be a good warrior.

[Dragonstar]

" Oh, I've changed alot since I was an apprentice, " Dragonstar laughed. " Race ya, " He ran off, not the fastest he could go. He looked behind himself to see if Mysterypaw had followed and accidently ran into a tree.

" Oof, " He groaned.

[sea]

Mysterypaw choked back a laugh. But then worry stabbed him. "Dragonstar, are you OK?" he yelped, running to his leader. His worry surprised him. He couldn't beleive he actually was worried.

[Dragonstar]

" I'm fine, " Dragonstar meowed as he got up. He shook his head. " Let's keep with racing. " He sped away, this time making sure he didn't run into any trees.

[sea]

Mysterypaw sped after him, slowly catching up as they went. He was about a tail length behind him after a while. He leapt, letting the sun shine on his fun and the wind blow through his ears. He felt free, flying...

[Dragonstar]

Dragonstar turned his head to the side and saw Mysterypaw.... flying?!? It looked like it was in slow motion.

Mysterypaw kept leaping in the air. The feeling was unbeleivable. He felt like he was flying so high all his troubles were behind him. No more worries, he was just soaring in the blue sky, and nothing else mattered.
